No one leaves their home with the expectation of ending up in a road accident meanwhile a road accident is happening every 15 minutes in Zimbabwe, resulting in 5 people dying & 38 getting injured every single day in Zimbabwe. It has therefore become quite crucial for every road user to travel with a travel first aid kit at all times and also acquire first aid rendering skills through training so that medically safe ways to timely & effectively render assistance to accident victims can be offered.

Our Advanced Travel Trauma First Aid Training Programme is a thorough programme which was set up by medical experts who attend to road accident victims on a daily basis and also by expert Zimbabwean explorers who understand all road conditions and driving styles in all parts of Zimbabwe. This programme is therefore specifically aimed at equipping you with knowledge, skills and high level of preparedness for any type road accident that you could ever potentially face. The goal is for you, your children, your spouse and your other loved ones to have a fair and medically high chance to survive in the even of a road accident.

2. TRAVEL SELF DEFENCE TRAINING PROGRAMME AND SAFETY & SECURITY TOOLS

There has been an alarming increase in robberies especially towards road users. At least 25 robberies are reported every single day in Zimbabwe. Between 2020 & 2021 there were 18’879 cases of robbery and over 3’500 murders that were reported. Over 10 murders are recorded each week (most victims being men), Over 20 women are raped every single day and the list goes on…

Travel Self Defence Training is therefore a need now more than ever for every single individual. Victims of any form of attack will attest that there is nothing that feels worse than the feeling of being helpless in a situation where you need to defend or protect yourself, your child, your spouse or other loved ones.

Our Travel Self Defence Training Programme was set up and is being run by individuals with years of experience in training local & international high profile people’s security personnel as well as first hand field experience. A significant number of road accidents reported are a result of faulty vehicles. With limited mechanical knowledge on vehicles, drivers are relying way too much on mechanics. Unfortunately, with no way of verifying the work that would have been done on the vehicle, each time the ignition is turned on all is left to luck to determine the outcome of the drive because mechanics are human too so errors are bound to be made every so often even by the best mechanics in the country.

A significant number of attacks reported are also towards individuals experiencing a breakdown but with zero clue on how to fix it. In the state of desperation, they end up attracting all kinds of people including criminals already on the hunt for potential victims.

There are some crucial aspects of a vehicle that every driver needs to know about so that they are in a better position to help themselves should a breakdown happen or to prevent a breakdown from happening.

This Crucial Vehicle Maintanance Training Programme was set up and is going to be run by a team of experts with decades of years of experience in vehicle servicing and maintenance. Do not end up being a victim of a totally avoidable road accident or attack because you’re standing stranded in the middle of nowhere as a result of some vehicle mechanical issues. Background story of Empowered Travel

Empowered Travel is a registered product and service based company which was founded in December 2023 and launched in March 2024. It was founded as a follow up service from the Eminently Eve – Intimacy With Nature movement which was started in August 2020 with the main goal of encouraging EcoTourism in Zimbabwe by sharing Detailed Destination Reviews and also travel safety, health & financial tips plus conservation issues.

It was in the course of this movement that other bigger issues started to crop up & these include:

a) the travellers’ lack of knowledge on how to render first aid and lack of first aid kits when travelling (especially considering that a road accident happens every 15 minutes in Zimbabwe & at least 5 people die while 38 get injured every day from road accidents – numbers that can be significantly reduced with effective & timely employment of first aid).

b) most travellers’ inability to take care of a vehicle in the event of a breakdown (which is especially concerning because most trips are to remote areas where mechanics are not readily available); and the lack of knowledge on user friendly tools that can be used to take care of a vehicle as well as a convenient way to access them.

c) most travellers’ lack of ability & tools to keep themselves, their children & property safe from robbery, carjacking, smash & grab, kidnapping, etc (crimes which have been on the rise lately with at least 25 robberies occurring daily)

Empowered Travel was therefore formed to address the above concerning issues.
