Empowered Travel is a registered product and service based company which was founded in December 2023 and launched in March 2024. It was founded as a follow up service from the Eminently Eve – Intimacy With Nature movement which was started in August 2020 with the main goal of encouraging EcoTourism in Zimbabwe by sharing Detailed Destination Reviews and also travel safety, health & financial tips plus conservation issues.
It was in the course of this movement that other bigger issues started to crop up & these include:
a) the travellers’ lack of knowledge on how to render first aid and lack of first aid kits when travelling (especially considering that a road accident happens every 15 minutes in Zimbabwe & at least 5 people die while 38 get injured every day from road accidents – numbers that can be significantly reduced with effective & timely employment of first aid).
b) most travellers’ inability to take care of a vehicle in the event of a breakdown (which is especially concerning because most trips are to remote areas where mechanics are not readily available); and the lack of knowledge on user friendly tools that can be used to take care of a vehicle as well as a convenient way to access them.
c) most travellers’ lack of ability & tools to keep themselves, their children & property safe from robbery, carjacking, smash & grab, kidnapping, etc (crimes which have been on the rise lately with at least 25 robberies occurring daily)
Empowered Travel was therefore formed to address the above concerning issues.
